Heather is a US educated psychologist who has trained and practiced in the US, Switzerland and Britain.  Heather is genuinely passionate about collaborating with an individual to empower them and help them make positive changes in their lives. Heather has experience and knowledge working with a wide range of difficulties with children, adolescents and adults.

Heather has worked in community health care with children aged 4 to 18 and their families, assessing and treating a wide range of difficulties. She has also worked with adolescent boys in juvenile detention facilities.  Heather has extensive experience working with young adults presenting with difficulties that include anxiety, depression, sexuality, body image and identity issues, self-worth, substance misuse and self-harm.

In New York, USA, Heather directed a student support centre at Columbia University Medical School providing psychological assessment and treatment for students who were seeking support for a wide range of issues common to the university environment.  

In Lausanne, Switzerland, Heather continued to work with adolescents, coaching rowing and providing sports performance psychology to aspiring athletes.  Additionally, she began working with expats struggling with the issues of identity in a foreign country.  

Heather moved to Oxford in 2013 where she is working part-time in the NHS for a highly specialised personality disorder service for high-risk offenders with personality disorder.

Heather comes with a great depth of knowledge and experience both nationally and internationally.  Her warm and empathic approach, in addition to her ability to tailor the therapeutic process and interventions to the individual and their needs, has helped many individuals overcome personal difficulties.  She has a keen interest in neuroscience and research and uses evidence-based approaches and interventions in her assessment and treatment.  She is passionate about her work and the people she is working with to overcome perceived obstacles, and return to living a fulfilling and peaceful life.
